MOZART WEEK 26
THE MAGIC FLUTE - THE SECOND PERFORMANCE
27 1 26
To see for a second time a magnificent production with all its perfect professionalism and artistic competence, is a special experience. It allows us to "confirm" our memories, to renew our impressions and to gain new ones..
The work of Rolando, its richness in every sense captivated even more, every moment bringing new elements and details.
For this staging of Rolando, the spectator is very "busy", he has a hard double mission : to listen to the immortal musik and to pay attention to the action on stage and to try not to lose or not to miss any of them-
For this second time, everything became familiar and friendly.
But, at the same time, I discovered countless new components, new units both in the acting of the performers
Loved even more the singers, and, in the first place, the incredibly ingenious, superb Theodore Platt: He amazed me with this fantastic singing and the way he performed this very lovable character, Papageno being my absolute favorite character in the opera.
And Kathryn Lewek who sang a breathtaking Queen of the Night. Sung by her, all these indescribably hard coloraturas seemed easy, like (with an overused expression) : like the flight of a butterfly.
And Franz-Josef Selig, as an uúnsurpassed, dignified Sarastro or Paul Schweinester, as Monostatos / Manostatos.
Emily Pogorelc and Tamara Ivanis (Pamina and Papagena) joined the male characters with their singing and stage presence.
How to not give the maximum warmest appreciation to the musical concept and realization of Roberto Monjas-González, and to the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg and the Philharmonia Chor. Their sound is THE SOUND of Mozart!
Once again, the end of the opera turned into a colorful celebration together with the amazed audience.
A second performance that Mozart would have loved very much. Another success which can be characterized only with the most stronger superlatives.
The chronicles of the recital of Emmanuel Pahud - Eric Le Sage and the Artist Talk will follow.
KÖSZÖNÖM, ROLANDO!
