My fourth "L'Orfeo"
Mozart is ROLANDO's best friend. After all these magnificent experiences with "L'Orfeo" and with other pieces by Monteverdi since very early, since Rolando's splendid concert in 2013 in Bremen, this composer too aspires to a somewhat similar position in Rolando's heart and throat.
Rolando is very familiar with Monteverdi's music : The most beautiful and magic of all voices is at home in this amazing musical world.
"L'Orfeo" is rich in emotional úcolors, it is profoundly passionate and showes all emotions with expressive force. This music moves the soul deeply, allows Rolando to sing all human feelings.
With Rolando as Orfeo, the musical intensity of Monteverdi is associated with the intensity of the acting. Every moment of his presence onto stage is magnetic.
Rolando offers the absolute singing and acting summit with his moments at Euridice's dead body : This is no more opera, no more theater ... A moment from real life. A man who mourns his dead wife.
I held my breath so as not to miss a single note.
And the very last moments ... Rolando's posture with Euridice in the lap. As life drains out of Orfeo, as blood slowly flowing leaves his body without life ...
It was uplifting, soul-stirring to see people in this huge, five-storey auditorium greet Rolando with thunderous reception, rapturous applause. And, of course, with massive standing ovations.
Every evening, the extremely difficult trillo performed by Rolando was exceptional. At this last performance, with its incredible perfection, with its fantastic "goat-thrill", Rolando's trillo was ideal, flawless.
Monteverdi is happy.
At the stage door, an entusiassssssimo crowd applauded and greeted Rolando.
