ROLANDO'S EISENSTEIN OF THOUSAND MOVEMENTS AND MILLION GESTURES
Viennese lightness and fine piquantery full of sparkling moments.
The role of Eisenstein fits Rolando like a glove. He is in his element in every situation, enjoys playing in every moment, and these feelings embrace completely the audience.
The staging is incredibly demanding, its most important element being a constant movement, in its countless forms.
Rolando's amazing movement culture is well-known, but his Eisenstein is extraordinary and exceptional. Rolando's stage presence is that of both a professional dancer and a fantastic comedian, while being the best operatic singer with the most beautiful voice in the World. The role of Eisenstein allowed him to dazzle us with this wonder in finest melodies composed by Strauss for this role.
For me one of the most beloved highlights was the scene where Eisenstein, in the costume of his lawyer, tries to explain the very complex situation : The purest humor in Rolando's perfect performance.
His partners were great, we had beautiful voices, stunning actings and cheerfulness in the whole piece with :
Athanasia Zöhrer (Rosalinde), Kali Hardwick (Adele), Brian Michael Moor (Alfred), Äneas Humm (Dr. Falke), Kristján Jóhannesson (Frank), Jennifer Panara (Orlofsky), Riccardo Botta (Dr. Blind), Swane Küpper (Ida), David Maze (Frosch), Brian Michael Moor (Walpurga).
The orchestra under the baton of Michael Balje was outstanding, with a very clear and beautiful sound, and the perfect performance of Strauss' wonderful music.
An immense, very noisy success with a lot of applause even during the performance.
An after-party was offered in the foyer where the audience could meet the artists in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
KÖSZÖNÖM, ROLANDO!
