BRUDERHERZ, SCHWESTERHERZ (Brother, sister)
An evening with special emotions for me :To hear Bartók's music at the Wiener Saal
The German language has a wonderful expression for characterizing something that is particular and great : 'Sternstunde". Rolando gave us another one at the Wiener Saal of the Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg. With a microphone in his hand and in this intimate atmosphere, he conducted thrilling conversations with his young guests.
Every Sofa-Konzert is an inspiring encounter. As a tradition, after the musical performance is finished, Rolando has small interviews with the artists.
I am always amazed by the thorough preparedness of Rolando for these talks. Full of interest and warm friendship, his questions, his small interventions show his passion for these programs and inspire the young artists to speak with immense enthusiasm and love about their respective arts.
As a stimulating detail, Rolando also asked the artists about the ease or difficulty of making music together as siblings.
Another interesting question about their musical habits : whether do they spontaneously play music at home?
The musical performances of these young musicians were at an extremely high level. Energy, virtuosity, poetry were all there.
In this very demanding program, I liked especially 'Il carnevale di Venezia' by Paganini and the original compositions of the Duo Molede for their unusual musical and melodic soundscapes
Speaking of the celebrated violonist, Laura Handler mentioned that Kreisler played a piece by Hungarian composer, Jenő Hubay "Waves of Balaton" and both toured in South America.
Also, Albeniz's tango was arranged for violin and piano by Kreisler.
A fascinating thing : Moritz Defregger already played the famous Costa violin in 2024.
