La chronique d'Eléonore :

PASSION! PASSION! PASSION!
After several appearances (recital, L'Orfeo, Serenata Latina), Rolando returned to the Musikverein Graz in a Bel Canto recital
Even among Rolando's absolutely magnificent appearances, this recital had something inimaginable, something extraordinary. It was exceptional. The magical voice was in its unbelievable beauty, making any comparison impossible. Its infinite power and the extreme expressiveness made the recital a fantastic series of vocal wonders.
To attend the transformation of Rolando / Alessandro into a recital singer Rolando, from one day to the next, was one of my two tremendous experiences. The other one being the privilege of sitting in the first row that allowed me to closely follow the amazingly exciting "creative process" of singing.
This Bel canto recital offered the much beloved repertoire, one of my greatest favorites :
Arie antiche
Bellini : Dolente immagine di Fille mia
Bellini : Ma rendi pur contento
Bellini : Vaga luna
Verdi : Non t'accostar all'urna
Verdi : Il Poveretto
Verdi : L'Esule
Pause
Tosti : Malia
Tosti : Vorrei morire
Tosti : Non t'amo piú
Puccini : A te
Puccini : Terra e Mare
Puccini : Ad una morta
Vincenzo de Crescenzo : Rondine al nido
Di Curtis : Non ti scordar di me
Gastaldon : Musica prohibita
Encores :
Tosti : Ideale
Besos robados
Maria Grever : Te quiero dijiste (Muñequita linda)
These treasured vocal pieces are all well known, but the way these songs were performed was different. Although the performance of Rolando has always been characterized by a strongest passion and limitless energy, in Graz these notions have been given a new interpretation.
Every trial to describe the beauty of the singing is impossible.
And how to choose the most heartbreaking moments? Were they the moments when Rolando sang "L'Esule" or "Vorrei morir" or "Ad una morta" or "Non t'amo piú"... or ... or ... or ...
And how to describe the softness of the voice in "Vergin tutto amor" or "Vaga luna" or "Ideale" or ... or ... or ...
"Música proibita" is my personal Number One in this series. With the voice of Rolando, this song is the beauty itself, I could listen to it on repeat all time.
Sarah Tysman at the piano was a marvelous partner with her wonderful playing filled with softness, power and fineness, with her infinite attention to Rolando in every moment. I appreciated Sarah Tysman's art at every occasion when I heard her accompany Rolando.
The public's enthusiasm knew no bounds. Standing ovation after the official end of the concert and after every encore, with countless "Bravo" and "Bravi".
A recital that stands out even among the most dazzling ones of Rolando.
KÖSZÖNÖM, ROLANDO!
