Bremen, Die Glocke - 18 08 26
ORFEO SON IO
Bremen, 2016 - Bremen, 2026
A most cherished gift, a most treasured and invaluable present to attend also the first performance, 'L'Orfeo' on 3rd September, 2016, with all these magnificent performers.
There are great evenings, there are greatest evenings ...
For ROLANDO's performance in Bremen, how to find the right words, they are all missing ...
RolandOrfeo in red and black. And barefoot.
His heartbreaking movements, his nonverbal ways to express the most profound emotions, his gestures, his facial expressions in his deeply moving, very personalized choreography that touches the very depth of the heart ...
"Rosa del ciel". "Vi ricorda ..."", "Tu sei morta", "Possente spirto". "Qual honor". "Mille pene". "Que faró senza Euridice". "Sus ojos se cerraron". "Black Orpheus"...
In the most emotional moment, when Orfeo learns of Eurydice's death, RolandOrfeo falls down with a heart-rending movement, in his inconsolable despair, in his intense emotional pain.
Rolando is a master of "Trillo-goat", a vocal ornament used in early Baroque music, his brilliant performance takes the breath away.
The "Orfeo son io" CD is a dream selection. To hear it live - with, in the breathtaking performance by Rolando - "Black Orpheus" is a very special, extraordinary experience.
Christina Pluhar, the immense, exceptionally great musician, her superb, absolutely outstanding L'Arpeggiata with its incredibly rich sound, the wonderful, extremely moving Celine Scheen amazed the audience.
And the encores
A warmest, deeply human moment : when the most magical and bewitching of all voices sings these words : "Aber ich habe dich gewonnen und was will ich noch mehr" (But I have won you over, and what more could I want) aus "Ich wollte wie Orpheus singen" by Reinhard Mey, Rolando knelt down beside Christina Pluhar, and kissed her hand..
"Pur ti miro" by Monteverdi, with its celestial beauty closed the evening.
Standing ovations, illimite enthusiasm for this evening of unsurpassable beauty and boundless passion.
KÖSZÖNÖM, ROLANDO!
