A Mexican touch with the "Lucha libre", name of the style of professional combat sport combining boxing and wrestling, of Mexican origin.
What I particularly love in Rolando's stagings is his limitless creativity and imagination, always offering fresh perspective, innovative approaches, novel concepts.
His sophistication in detail brings unexpected and unusual elements, dramatic lightings, adding a powerful character to the acting.
A fantastic, unique "signature style" that makes Rolando's stagings works instantly recognizable and incomparable.
The "divided" stage allowed Rolando to show simultaneous actions in distinct locations, making the acting even more sparkling, the performance more engaging, always with a high emotional level.
Rolando's endless energy and intensity were palpable, with his passion and dedication present in every moment of the performance.
The singers were simply fantastic! Wonderful voices inspiring pleasure and delight, accompanied by perfect acting.
It was a great feeling to hear this beautiful singing!
In one of the fabulous scenes, eight solo singers sang at the same time! What a virtuoso conductor to lead them and the orchestra in a perfect harmony!
The orchestra and the choir were at their best! In this opera, the choir has a primary importance. Their sound was absolutely splendid!
The orchestra played with all the sparkling and bright ambiance existing in Rossini's music!
The overture of this opera offers clarinet solos, the two clarinetists were masters in artistic expression and virtuoso technique. Their music was sublime!
The minimalist set design, for example, the boxing ring without any other stage decoration elements, served to emphasize the acting. The colors of the costumes created a very young atmosphere.
As in all of Rolando's productions, the members of the choir did not form a "mass", each had his / her own role.
The success was tremendous, the audience loved Rolando's staging, with countless laughs and applause throughout the evening. The incredibly strong and long final applause showed their appreciation and approval.
