Nuestra amiga Renate, como miembro del Parlamento Europeo, ha participado en la campaña Get Caught Reading, con MALABARES, de Rolando Villazón.
The Federation of European Publishers (FEP) has launched in January 2013 the second edition of Get Caught Reading, to promote books and reading. This campaign has two main purposes: to promote and celebrate reading by European citizens and to increase the importance of books and reading on the political agenda. The campaign will feature black and white photographs of European personalities, reading their favourite book. Those pictures will then be displayed during an exhibition at the European Parliament, under the patronage of MEP Luigi Berlinguer and supported by MEP Doris Pack, between the 17th and the 20th of June 2013, with an official launch on the 18th.
I cannot imagine my life without books, says Renate Weber, MEP
I have been reading since early childhood and I cannot imagine my life without books, says Renate Weber, Member of the European Parliament, for the “Get Caught Reading” campaign.I strongly encourage parents to cultivate the passion for reading into their children – it is a passion that will last a lifetime, added Mrs Weber.
"The book I'm reading now - "Malabares" - was just released in April 2013 in Spain, and it is the first fiction novel of Rolando Villazon, a world renowned tenor. I am a huge opera fan and a devoted Villazon admirer, so I am very pleased to discover another facet of his huge artistic talent.
I have been reading since early childhood and I cannot imagine my life without books. And I mean paper books. Of course, whenever necessary, I read a lot on my Ipad. But there is nothing quite like the smell of a book fresh out of printing or of an old book that you are rediscovering for the tenth time.
I strongly encourage parents to cultivate the passion for reading into their children - it is a passion that will last a lifetime."
