Finally after an amazing concert in Dublin with Rolando a few words on my personal experience. As he walked onto the stage he was greeted with a great welcome and applause by the audience who were delighted to see him in Dublin.
With his co-artistes they gave us a wonderful selection of arias from opera, operetta and zarzuela. Almost impossible to choose a favourite but the Deserto e il luogo, from I Capuletti e i Montecchi, by Bellini, brought the house down. And of course the encore from Man of La Mancha, was the icing on the cake, as we say in English.
Several people asked “why has he not sung here before” and “when is he coming back”. So maybe we can look forward to a return concert! Our thanks must go to Irish National Opera for initiating such a great evening and to Paula, Ada and the Irish National Orchestra led by Ryan McAdams. Needless to say, the final applause and standing ovations were so well deserved.
