What an immense happiness to have the opportunity to watch Rolando's staging several times. I chose my place in different parts of the house, so that no detail of the staging escapes me. I don't want to lose anything from the ideas of Rolando!
I loved the scene in complete silence before the beginning of the overture. It created a very strong, intense atmosphere. And loved much also Sarastro's slaves in this staging are Mozart-figures much larger than human size.
Every moment of the opera brings Rolando's fantastic thoughts in innumerable quantities. Another one my most favorites : Tamino emerges from the orchestra pit, dressed as an orchestra member,.then suddenly we see the clothes Tamino wears in the stage story
We have the four symbols of freemasonry : Fire, Air, Water, Earth. And ... as the staging makes us part of Mozart's family life, we have these symbols in a deeply human, intimate scene : the wife takes care of her husband.
Magnificent singers, orchestra, conductor and choir - to be mentioned with only the stronger and superlatively intense praise adjectives.
The extremely enthusiastic audience loved every second of the performance. Once again, the success was beyond description, beyond expression!
A fabulous, exceptional series!
