Of course I thought I would get ONE picture. Instead he made a whole story out of it.It is so typical for him and his life and it shows his passion so deeply.
And you would not believe how chaotic the whole situation was - actually about ten people (not private friends but marketing and agency people) were standing around in the open door, waiting for him nervously, being more or less angry that I was still there and poiting out with gestures and by tapping on their watches that I was holding everyone up.
But he really ignored it and concentrated for minutes just to THINK and then he draw this.
I had to leave at once because my interview-time was more than over - and finally in the subway I could take out the papers and realise what he did…

<Star tenor Rolando Villazón has learned, during his time out, not to take the bustle around him too seriously. „One should not give anything too much importance. What counts, in the end, are only our health and the people that we love. And also, that one does not build too much on his so-called celebrity“, said the 37-year old to BUNTE Magazine. „Notability is fragile like a house of cards. We must be able to also live without it“, continues Villazón. He does „gladly normal housework. I cannot cook, but can tidy the house and wash the dishes“, said the father of two. The singer had retired for six months since the middle of 2007, due to exhaustion.
Villazón cannot imagine himself continuing his current life for too long: „My life is more than anything that I would have dared to dream. I will always remain an opera singer. But I cannot imagine myself rushing from an opera to the next until my 50th year, said the tenor“. He is looking for new challenges. „For example, I would like to work as a producer soon, although I actually have more than enough to do in my main profession as singer. But I don’t want to wait. And why should I?“.
Villazón follows a ritual before each appearance: „I always look previously in the mirror and say out loud: ´Don’t forget, tonight is the most important appearance of your life. Give everything!´Traducción: Angeliki
