THE THIRD EVENING WITH STUPENDOUS GABRIELITO VON EISENSTEIN

Final performance of Rolando's  December series of 'The Bat'

An evening that only can be described in absolute superlatives. Voice, acting, stage presence at their well-known and adored best.

Rolando has a perfect talent for improvisation. In this third performance also he regaled us with new jokes, new movements and gestures, new pleasantries, including in the play even 'Mexico' and ' la tequila'. 

Rolando's stage presence was stimulating, superbly entertaining, his acting filled with great humor and spontaneity. His energy was boundless, and remained fresh in every moment.

A fascinating power accompanied the bright luminosity of the voice.

For all these sparkling moments, the audience showed their gratitude with a lot of laughs and very frequent enthusiastic applause.  Standing ovation ended the evening.

Rolando gifted us with a third exceptional experience!

La chronique d'Antonella : 

Un delizioso "FLEDERMAUS" a St. Gallen

Vivace, brillante, scoppiettante! Come altro definire il divertentissimo Fledermaus di J. Strauss messo in scena in questi giorni a St. Gallen, con Rolando nel ruolo centrale del protagonista? Chi scrive ha assistito alle rappresentazioni del 10 (la prima) e del 12 dicembre, entrambe perfettamente riuscite. Tutto il cast vocale è apparso di ottimo livello, e ben calato nei rispettivi ruoli, sia per quanto riguarda la performance propriamente vocale, sia per quella attoriale. Altrettanto abili e bravi anche i ballerini. Tutti hanno recitato e cantato  con grande verve, continue gags cui l'opera in questione si presta molto bene, ed un ritmo davvero indiavolato, suscitando l'entusiasmo del pubblico. 

Rolando è apparso in gran forma, e del tutto a suo agio in un ruolo brillante che gli permette di esprimere tutte le sue potenzialità non solo di tenore dal timbro piacevolmente baritonale, ma anche di attore comico e di vero instancabile performer. La sua presenza sulla scena è al tempo stesso scherzosa e umoristica (irresistibile il suo travestimento da avvocato balbuziente ed obeso nel terzo atto!) che carismatica e intensa. Continue le sue trovate, i suoi scherzi e giochi di parole, e qui libera e divertentissima la sua gestualità che i fans ben conoscono. Si tratta di un ruolo in cui tutti davvero ci auguriamo di rivedere Rolando negli anni a venire. Come già detto, molto bravi e simpatici anche gli altri cantanti, con una menzione speciale per il soprano Theresa Steinbach  subentrato in corsa  la seconda sera nel brillantissimo ruolo di Adele. Una menzione d'onore anche al direttore e all'orchestra, che hanno eseguito con molto successo sia la bellissima ouverture che le musiche dei tre atti. 

Nel finale, in entrambe le serate molti applausi, e grande soddisfazione da parte di tutti, non solo degli spettatori, ma anche degli interpreti, che hanno mostrato di essersi divertiti quanto il pubblico!

'The Bat' by Johann Strauss

ROLANDO AS EISENSTEIN FOR THE SECOND TIME

It is always an exciting experience to see a production for a second time. And it is even more exciting to attend the second performance of a staging characterized by a constant movement : To experience how, inhabiting more and more their respective roles, the artists recreate the different characters and develop their acting in this operetta based basically on 'situation comedy', a theatrical genre that requires an intense precision.

Improvisation is always present in live performances, and the spectators who enjoy several times the play receive different solutions for a same situation.

Loved when Rolando, hearing the sound of the entrance door's bell, started to sing "kling Glöckchen...".

In the role of Eisenstein, there is a lot of text. Rolando's perfect mastery of a  language which is not his native one and the absolute ease in its use are extremely impressive. His intensity and powerful presence on stage are enrapturing. 

Due to the sickness of Kali Hardwick performing Adele, we had a wonderful 'cover", Teresa Steinbach who coming from Nürnberg in the very last minute, saved the evening. 

Also this time, the orchestra and the conductor, Michael Batje made a wonderful music.

Rolando's magnificent, sublime voice crowned the spectacle.
