Rolando Villazón ha iniciado su gira Galas de Ópera con Pumeza Matshikiza, con gran éxito en Zlín, Londres y Moscú, y prosigue con estos conciertos en Viena (20/10), Paris (22/10), Hamburg (28/10), Düsseldorf (1/11), Munich (4/11), Helsinki (8/11), Aalborg (13/11) y Hannover (26/11).

Warm and bright sunshine under the cold and dark sky of Moscow

Moscow people are fine connoisseurs in music and greatly passionate music lovers. To perform in this city, is certainly a special experience for the artists. The acoustics of the beautiful and architecturally very interesting Tchaikovsky Hall are excellent, one has the impression of sitting under a fantastic and rich rain of sounds. After 2006, Rolando returned to delight the audience.

I read a few days ago that the 2,500 seat Royal Festival Hall was set to be only half-full for this concert, if so, there must have been a late rush for tickets!!  I could not see any free seats from my position in the Hall and even heard a security guard trying to sort out a problem with two audience members who both had tickets for the same seat!  The concert attracted a nicely mixed crowd of old and young attendees and, from what I could tell, classical music aficionados, Rolando-fans and people who had come looking for something new.

Rolando Villazón inició el pasado sábado en la ciudad checa de Zlín su gira de conciertos con arias de ópera y zarzuela, que le llevará por importantes teatros y auditorios europeos en las próximas semanas, acompañado de la soprano Pumeza Matshikiza, y del director Guerassim Voronkov.

Book Presentation "Kunsstücke" Rolando Villazón - Vienna, 07 September 2014

Heinz Sichrovsky (cultural journalist and presenter) conducted the interview with Rolando Villazón (for the most part he asked the usual questions - those we know from countless interviews). Rolando replied with his usual charm and had - as so often - so many laughs elicits from the audience.

Between these "questions and answers": Michael Dangl - actor from the ensemble Theater in der Josefstadt - was the reciter.  He read from the book "Kunsstücke" - obviously well prepared and with skilful accentuation (Primera Tríada: 1.1.2 CRAC CRIC CRAC) and (Segunda Tríada: 1.2.2 SUBMARINO AMARILLO).
