LES CONCERTS AU CHATEAU DE RAESFELD - 9 ET 10 08 25

ROLANDO A RAESFELD

Il 9 e il 10 agosto si sono svolti nel parco del bel castello di Raesfeld (amena e verdissima località della Westfalia, allietata da boschi e laghetti con cigni e anatre selvatiche) due bei concerti, il primo la sera del sabato e il secondo il pomeriggio della domenica. Per la verità, anche il secondo concerto è diventato... serale, a causa del lungo intervallo dovuto alla difficoltà per i professori dell'orchestra di suonare con il sole calante negli occhi.

Il programma è stato lo stesso per i due concerti, molto ricco e caratterizzato dall'alternarsi di pezzi strumentali con pezzi per coro e orchestra e pezzi per solista vocale, ovviamente quindi per Rolando, che ha cantato come unico solista, fatta eccezione per il Brindisi della Traviata (uno dei bis) eseguito con un giovane soprano del coro.

L'orchestra era la "Festival Philarmonie Westfalen" diretta da Michael Zlabinger, il coro il M:LW Festivalchor. Tutti hanno suonato e cantato con grande entusiasmo, e anche il direttore si è mostrato molto simpatico, partecipe e affiatato con Rolando, verso cui ha più volte dimostrato grande apprezzamento e grande stima. Bisogna però dire che spesso l'orchestra ha eseguito le parti strumentali e corali in modo un po' frettoloso e un po' troppo bandistico, specie per ciò che riguarda la produzione italiana verdiana e rossiniana.

Nel secondo concerto, comunque, tutti sono migliorati, come se il primo fosse stato una sorta di "prova generale" per la seconda performance. Fra i pezzi strumentali, citiamo l'ouverture del Nabucco, e suites dalla Carmen e dal Ballo in Maschera, fra i cori, il notissimo "Va' pensiero" dal Nabucco e "Heil sei euch Geweihten" dal Flauto Magico. Rolando ha aperto la sua esibizione con un'interpretazione magistrale, intensissima e drammatica, di "O souverain o juge o père" dal Cid di Massenet. Ha poi alleggerito l'atmosfera cantando e recitando la sua ultracelebre aria di Kleinzach dai Contes d'Hoffmann di Hoffenbach, pezzo che nessuno al mondo sa interpretare come lui. Il pubblico è andato in visibilio! Ha chiuso la prima parte del concerto. con i suoi cavalli di battaglia "il poveretto" e "L'esule" di Giuseppe Verdi.

Nella seconda parte, ha eseguito magistralmente il pezzo di zarzuela "Ya mis horas felices" e il celeberrimo pezzo d'operetta "Dein ist mein ganzes herz", per chiudere con la struggente "Ad una morta" di Puccini e la bellissima "Musica proibita". Generosissimi i bis: dopo un bis strumentale e uno del coro, Rolando ha eseguito il Brindisi della Traviata (con danza inclusa!) insieme ad Anita, un giovane soprano del coro; ha poi eseguito "La danza" di Rossini e "Funiculì Funiculà", quest'ultimo insieme al coro, e coinvolgendo il pubblico in battimani. Grande e meritato successo per tutti, e ovviamente soprattutto per Rolando, cui il pubblico adorante ha tributato grandi applausi e ripetute standing ovations. E Rolando, felice, ha promesso che l'anno prossimo sarà di ritorno...

CHATEAU DE NEUSCHWANSTEIN - 5 08 25 : GOLDA SCHULTZ - ROLANDO VILLAZON - LUDOVIC TEZIER

Quelle finale ! Avec Mozart, Verdi et Lehár, la semaine de concert du château à Neuschwanstein s'est conclue dans un cadre vraiment royal. Trois des plus grandes voix de notre époque – Rolando Villazón, Golda Schultz et Ludovic Tézier –ont enchanté par leur force vocale, leur présence scénique et leur joie.

Accompagnée par la brillante chambre philharmonique allemande de Brême sous la direction d'Omer Meir Wellber, cette soirée a été un hommage à l'opéra – et à la puissance de la musique pour toucher les cœurs. De la finesse lyrique au drame opéra, tout ce que le classique a à offrir a été couvert.

Les concerts de Neuschwanstein 2025 sont maintenant terminés - mais leur rayonnement affecte bien au-delà de cette semaine estivale. Nous remercions tous les artistes, partenaires et supporters - et nous attendons avec impatience les retrouvailles l'année prochaine !

... même si la dernière note est partie depuis longtemps - ceux qui ont manqué les concerts (ou veulent les revivre) peuvent se réjouir : toutes les soirées ont été enregistrées. La diffusion à la télé et à la médiathèque suivra et bien sûr nous vous tiendrons informés !

AN EFFERVESCENT, DEEPLY INSPIRING EVENT WITH ROLANDO

After 2018 in Salle Cortot, Paris, this was my second Masterclass with Rolando

The American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) offered a fantastic occasion for these young artists to show their talents to a most receptive audience.

The programme was attractive : "No puede ser" and arias from La bohème, Macbeth, L'italiana in Algeri, L'elisir d'amore and Don Giovanni.

Rich in vocal surprises and great artistic and professional guidance, the evening was full of breathtakingly human moments, and we were lucky to witness remarkable transformations in some minutes :

The most incredible one was that in the performance of Mark Berkowitz.

He sang "No puede ser", this heartbreaking song overflowing with emotions. Standing by the piano, hands at his side, a face without any visible feeling, the singer just sang. Just sung notes, nothing else.

And arrived a true miracle "à la Rolando" : Some reassuring, positive words, some kind guidance concerning singing and performing... and Mark Berkowitz offered us a passionate, heartfelt version of the song.

I liked mezzo soprano Ying Yang for her very natural singing, beautiful voice and noble stage presence. She performed the very difficult and virtuoso aria from "L'italiana in Algeri" with elegance and ease.

A separate, unique "chapter" of this evening was for me : "Una furtiva lágrima". I saw the singer, I knew it was him who was singing, but in my ears I only had Rolando's voice, the unique one for me to sing this aria. It was a special experience to watch Rolando, his emotions. He gave advice about the hand position, the hand gestures of the singer and, the most important, about certain notes. Moving moments.

Raul Morales Velazco, bass sang "Madamina, il catalogo é questo". A wonderful voice. A singer born to sing and perform on stage.

The incredible attention and sincere affection of Rolando to the young artists were captivating. His observations were not only about singing, but about everything that makes a singer an artist.

An inspirational evening!
