MENSAJE EN VIDEO DE ROLANDO

¡Hola a todos!

Como probablemente ya sabréis me han diagnosticado un quiste en una de mis cuerdas vocales. Ciertamente,esta no es una situación agradable pero si que es una situación muy común entre los cantantes de ópera, los médicos lo conocen muy bien y lo saben tratar perfectamente.

Espero estar de vuelta en los escenarios muy pronto. Ahora es un tiempo de paciencia. Tengo que tomarme un tiempo para una correcta rehabilitación y debo pensar en mi mismo como un artista, como un instrumento, un cantante y un músico que espera continuar evolucionando.

Tengo mucha confianza y agradezco a todos vuestro apoyo. Por favor, entrad en mi web donde se irán poniendo noticias y así podré estar en contacto con todos vosotros.

Espero volver a veros muy pronto y compartir de nuevo maravillosos momentos artísticos juntos

Comme vous le savez probablement déjà, on a diagnostiqué un kyste sur une de mes cordes vocales. Bien sûr ce n'est pas une situation agréable, mais je suis soulagé! C'est assez courant chez les chanteurs lyriques et les docteurs connaissent bien cela. Je serai dans de bonnes mains et bien soigné.

J'espère retourner sur scène très bientôt! Voici maintenant le temps venu pour la patience, la remise en forme, dans le bon sens j'espère, et je vais repenser mon métier : instrument,chanteur,et musicien. J'espère que je serai très bientôt de retour et que je continuerai à évoluer, progresser.

Je suis très confiant, et veux vous remercier pour votre soutien! Surtout, n'hésitez pas à consulter mon site, je vais y poster des choses et partager des moments artistiques avec vous!

Come probabilmente già saprete, mi hanno diagnosticato una cisti in una delle corde vocali. Certamente non si tratta di una situazione piacevole, ma sicuramente è molto frequente per i cantanti d'opera, i medici la conoscono bene e sanno perfettamente come trattarla.

Spero di tornare presto in scena. Sarà un periodo di pazienza. Devo prendermi tempo per poter affrontare la riabilitazione in modo corretto, e devo pensare a me stesso come artista, come strumento, come cantante e musicista che spera di continuare a evolversi.

Tal com ja de ben segur sabeu, m’han diagnosticat un quist a una de les cordes vocals, una circumstància gens agradable però, a la vegada, també molt habitual entre els cantans d’òpera; els metges ho coneixen molt bé i saben com tractar-ho.

Espero poder tornar als escenaris molt aviat. Ara és qüestió de paciència. He d’agafar-me el temps que calgui per a una correcta rehabilitació, i he de pensar en mi mateix com a artista, com a instrument: un cantant i un músic que desitja continuar evolucionant.

Tinc molta confiança i us agraeixo el suport que m’envieu. Si us plau: entreu al meu web, on hi aniran sortint notícies i, d’aquesta manera, podré estar en contacte amb tots vosaltres.

Hallo an alle!

Wie ihr wahrscheinlich schon gehört habt, wurde eine Zyste an einem meiner Stimmbänder diagnostiziert. Natürlich ist das keine angenehme Situation. Aber ich bin erleichtert. So etwas kommt bei Opernsängern häufig vor, die Ärzte kennen sich sehr gut damit aus, und ich werde es behandeln lassen.

Ich hoffe, dass ich sehr bald wieder auf der Bühne stehen werde.

Diese Zeit erfordert jetzt Geduld. Ich werde diese Zeit natürlich für eine entsprechende Reha nützen und nicht nur das. Ich werde über mich selbst nachdenken als Künstler, als Instrument, als Sänger und Musiker, der sich hoffentlich weiterentwickeln wird.

Ich bin sehr zuversichtlich, und ich möchte allen danken für eure Unterstützung. Bitte schaut regelmäßig auf diese Website. Wenn es etwas Neues gibt, werde ich es hier posten und mit euch in Kontakt bleiben.

Also ich hoffe, euch sehr bald wieder zu sehen und dass wir wieder wunderbare künstlerische Augenblicke miteinander teilen werden.

ROLANDO EN "VENTI SCUDI" ...¿VIENA O BARCELONA?

Os presentamos dos youtubes recién subidos. El primero del usuario DessayBestSinger. Es el dúo "Venti scudi", de L'Elisir d'Amore en Viena (2005), cantado por Rolando Villazón y Leo Nucci.

ROLANDO VILLAZÓN, PARRAIN "TOUS À L'OPÉRA" 2009, VIDEO PROMOCIONAL

Enmarcado en los actos de las Jornadas Europeas de la Ópera, se celebra en Francia, el 9 de mayo, la tercera edición de Tous à l'Opéra. Este año, el "parrain" (padrino) de la conmemoración será Rolando Villazón. Ya lo comentamos en este blog en el post del 19 de enero (LEER).

Rolando grabó el spot promocional del acto, que ahora os ofrecemos, y suponemos que también grabó su intervención del día 9.

Para festejar el acontecimiento, el Canal Mezzo emite ese día Roméo et Juliette, con Nino Machaizde y Rolando Villazón.

D'UN AIR ENTENDU - Entrevista inédita de 2004

El usuario de Youtube Foly90 (merci!) acaba de subir tres videos, tres fragmentos de una entrevista de Daniela Lumbroso a Rolando Villazón y a Macha Makeieff, directora de escena. El documental ha sido emitido el 2 de mayo por la cadena Mezzo y, a pesar de la fecha de su realización, en el año 2004, era inédito, que sepamos.

VILLAZÓN Y MOZART, BUENOS AMIGOS

Ya sabéis que en el actual repertorio de Rolando Villazón no está incorporada ninguna opera de Mozart. En enero de 2010, en el Palais Garnier de Paris, está previsto, si la recuperación lo permite, que Rolando interprete su primer papel mozartiano, el protagonista de Idomeneo.

Pero en los conciertos si que tiene incorporada alguna aria de este compositor. Que recordemos, dos de ellas: Il mio tesoro (Don Ottavio), en Don Giovanni y Dies bildnis ist bezaubernd schön (Tamino) en Die Zauberflöte.

Las ha cantado en diversas ocasiones, una de ellas en el concierto que ofreció el 1 de abril de 2006 en el Théatre des Champs Elysées de Paris. Os invitamos a que las escuchéis, Rolando interpreta a Mozart con una calidez, un vigor y un brillo vocal no habitual en los que normalmente lo cantan.

ROLANDO VILLAZÓN CANCELA SUS ACTUACIONES HASTA FINAL DE AÑO, EL BLOG VILLAZONISTA SIGUE.

Nos lo ha dejado escrito Catherine en la Cbox, Rolando tiene que ser operado de un quiste que le acaban de detectar y cancela todas sus actuaciones hasta final de año.

Daniele nos informa que ha leído en un foro el testimonio de una cantante que fue operada de un quiste en las cuerdas vocales por el mismo equipo que operó a Natalie Dessay. Dice que vió en la sala de espera a Rolando Villazón y a Julie Depardieu, que eran atendidos por el mismo foniatra (testimonio de abril de 2008). La cantante estaba entusiasmada, ella dice que recuperó plenamente su voz y puede cantar Wagner como antes. Se necesita paciencia después de la cirugía, 1 mes sin cantar y rehabilitación de 3 meses.

Rolando ha elegido Berlín para ser operado por un excelente profesional, el doctor Gerrit Wohlt, que nos dice que "después de la operación y la fase siguiente de readaptación, podemos prever que el tenor quedará totalmente restablecido".

Desde el tópico, se podría decir aquello de "ironías del destino". Después de poner el post de las 100.000 visitas, esta noticia.

En este blog casi siempre se ha hablado en plural, pero ahora y hoy, en este justo momento, soy yo, Teresa Garcia, quien escribe esto. Creo que el momento requiere otros códigos, y quiero dirijirme a los lectores directamente, cosa que, desde el espacio de "post", nunca había hecho.

Este blog va a continuar vivo, y activo, durante los ocho meses restantes de este año. La dedicación diaria que han significado las 182 entradas, los muchísimos correos personales, todo el trabajo de seguimiento me han impedido algo que llevo tiempo pretendiendo: tener una base de datos completa de todas las grabaciones, tanto en audio como en vídeo, que tengo de Rolando.

Creo que estaría muy bien que esas grabaciones (las mías y las vuestras que falten) estén a disposición de todos los villazonistas. Habló siempre (o casi) de grabación que no interfieran ningún derecho comercial. Poner orden a esto, complementar con las que tengáis y las que me falten, y ponerlo de una manera accesible a disposición de todos, va a ser una tarea de mucho tiempo, y que podemos abordar ahora con tranquilidad.

También van a haber post periódicos. Tenemos (ahora en plural, por Tosca y María Teresa), alguno pendiente, sean de Rolando o de otros cantantes líricos. Irán saliendo. También os animo a que me enviéis vuestros "post", comentando algún vídeo o grabación que os guste especialmente. Tendremos tiempo. De organizarnos y de continuar disfrutando de Rolando, hasta que se recupere totalmente. No hay problema, esperaremos.

Pero vamos a esperar activos y con positividad. Rolando dijo hace muy poco una frase con la que cierro esta declaración de intenciones, que va a ser una "hoja de ruta" de los próximos ocho meses: UN DÍA LLUVIOSO ES IGUAL DE BELLO QUE UN DÍA SOLEADO. TODO FORMA PARTE DE LA VIDA.

100.000...NO PUEDE SER !

Bueno, en realidad, y a pesar del título, SI QUE HA PODIDO SER, HOY HEMOS LLEGADO A LAS 100.000 VISITAS !

Este blog se inició el 15 de setiembre de 2008, sin especiales expectativas, para recoger una serie de informaciones, opiniones, etc., que ya compartíamos, entre nosotras, un grupo reducido de personas. Pensamos, vamos a hacerlo público, seguro que a alguien le interesará, veremos que pasa.

Y parece ser que todo lo relativo a Rolando si que interesa: el grupo va aumentado, y aumenta cada día. Desde los que nos leéis, a los que de vez en cuando escribís y a los que sois indispensables con vuestras aportaciones. Cada uno tiene su papel, su espacio de participación, y todos valen.

Al principio nos hacia mucha gracia ver como iba aumentado el número de entradas. Contábamos 10.000, 20.000,...Ha llegado un momento en que ésto ha dejado de ser importante, y cuenta mucho más vuestra presencia, la calidez y la fuerza de vuestras palabras, las que nos enviáis por email o nos dejáis escritas en los comentarios o en la Cbox.

Hoy hemos llegado a las 100.000 visitas. Nos alegramos de ello, pero sobretodo, y mucho más, nos alegramos de haberos podido conocer. No vamos a poner ningún nombre, porque alguien se quedaría fuera, y seria injusto: en el corazón de este blog villazonista estáis todos y todas.

Y hoy hemos recibido un precioso regalo de Miquel Pérez, para felicitarnos por haber llegado hasta aquí. De Miquel hablamos ya en un post anterior ( LEER POST ) y le agradecemos muchísimo que nos haya entregado la grabación inédita del No puede ser del concierto de Amsterdam, de 2 de abril de 2008. Es una canción que Rolando canta habitualmente en sus conciertos, y siempre la borda. Pero esta vez una energía, una fuerza y un vigor espectaculares recorren su interpretación. ES REALMENTE EXTRAORDINARIA. Para todos vosotros...

CHE GELIDA MANINA, del DVD de La Bohème

Mucho hemos hablado del film de La Bohème, pero hasta ahora no habíamos tenido algo consistente que ofrecer a los lectores del blog.

El villazonista Elfomartin acaba de subir el primer video a Youtube de una aria de esta ópera. Hasta ahora, habíamos visto tomas complementarias, Rolando haciendo divertidísimas rolandadas, o imágenes grabadas en un cine y, por tanto, de escasa calidad.

Ahora ya podéis disfrutar de la interpretación de Rolando (y también de Anna Netrebko) en esta aria clásica. ¿Aporta algo nuevo? Esperamos vuestras opiniones.

Gracias a la información de ChristineLuise, hemos sabido de los videos de Rolando en su intervención de ayer, dia 24, en el programa de televisión alemán "3 nach 9".

Me ha llegado la grabación, y he subido las imágenes a Youtube, para que queden registradas cuando la emisora retire el video de su web. Y en el primer video hay imágenes que no estaban en la web de la emisora, por ejemplo, el baile de Barenboim con Rolando.

Rolando: No!

Rolando: I already answered the question, I don´t know! I know how Mimi is kissing, I know how Violetta is kissing, I know how Manon is kissing, I know how Juliette is kissing. But I don´t know…
Giovanni: I have the wrong profession!
Rolando: Yes! And I don´t know! Romeo knows it, Rodolfo knows it, Alfredo knows it.
Amelie: Watching the film I thought, that you had fun during the rehearsals. I always thought, opera is a very serious matter. But you really had fun.
Rolando: We do that only for the TV! (laughs). No, we had much fun! Opera can be very dramatic and very funny. One mistake during the performance and it can be very funny. I think we are playing with that during rehearsals. What I think about opera is that it is a stage for our consciousness. That´s why ít is so extreme, so dramatic. When there is a tragedy in life, we don´t make "Ahhhh!", in opera we do that all the time. (In life) we don´t say "I love you! I love you! I love you!" In opera: (sings) "Io t´amo, io t´amo, io t´amo!" But I think that we feel it. The consciousness…one feels these emotions, and therefore I think people come to opera passionately. It speaks directly to us, like we feel every day, in the great world of our life.
Amelie: We have to reveal a mystery. The mystery, why you as a Mexican speak German excellently. Is there a certain reason?
Rolando: Yes! But it is not that good. And I have to say: I apologize, dear audience in Germany, I have much respect for this language, and I hope, that when I´m here the next time I will speak a perfect Humboldt-Deutsch. I say Humboldt-Deutsch because I attended a German school in Mexico, which name was "Alexander von Humboldt". I was there from the age of 4 to the age of 11. The reason is, that my grand grandmother and my grandfather came to Mexico from Austria. My grand grandmother was already in Mexico, and then the war broke out and my grandfather had to flee from the Nazis.
He came to Mexico and he was the best soccer player of his time. That´s why I am an opera singer!
Amelie: But you almost chose a different profession!
Rolando: I had many plans! I wanted to be a priest (I attended the Seminary), I was a clown for a year, but not in circus, for children´s parties, each weekend.
Then I wanted to study psychology and philosophy. But I am a tenor, and that doesn´t harmonize. They say: Stupid like a tenor! I wrote: I want to be a tenor! And the university said: No, that doesn´t harmonize!

Giovanni: The way you describe a tenor, loud, Ti amo!, stupid, those gestures, one thinks of the composers of the nineteenth century, Puccini, Verdi, …but not of the composer you dedicated a CD to: Händel. What does Händel distinguish from other composers?
Rolando: The voice serves the technique. Later (Verdi, Massenet,..) technique had to serve the voice. And I think with Händel each note is important. With Puccini the high notes or the pianissimi are more important. In the repertoire of the nineteenth century the singer can be a surfer on the wave of the music. But with Händel, the Baroque music, you must not do that, you must be a part of the wave.
Giovanni: On the CD you sing "Ombra mai fu" from "Xerxes". Can you sing it in the style of Händel and in the style of Puccini?
Rolando: Oh! That´s a good example. It is a tradition of tenors to sing "Ombra mai fu". Each great tenor has done this. I don´t know why I did it – great tenors sang it – I´m only 1.80m high - 1.81m is really high! (In German "great" and "high" is the same word: "groß".)
I wanted to respect the style. The style comes from the music. It doesn´t come from tradition, I think, it comes from the orchestra. (Then he demonstrates the two differtent styles.) The second one is like a caricature.
Amelie: Bocelli-like!
Rolando: No, no! I don´t know if he did sing it. I have to say, he sings very good.
Giovanni: Bocelli is a classic belcanto voice.
Was it a result of this style of singing, which you presented as caricature, that a singer had to produce the effect, that he had to sing loudly. They prefered singers without musical training, only because they could sing loudly.
Rolando: For me, the fantastic of this (Baroque) repertoire is, that the music is most important. It is not the singer, it is Händel. And I think it is very modern.
Rhythm is very important in some arias. And "Ombra mai fu" is….What was the question? (laughs)
Giovanni: You did answer the question already, three times and very good!
Rolando: Now the answer! It´s a pity! In the opera world many people are very passionate, and some see it in an "athletic" way. Like in sports. Who sings higher, who sings louder, who sings without breathing? But: Where is art? Where is what music has to give to us? Music is the possibility to find a world for the subjectivity. The problem is, if someone only goes to the opera to see if a singer sings high, or loud, or enough, he only gets to a certain limit (shows it with his arms).
Giovanni: Is there an aria you cannot hear anymore? Do you still like "Nessun dorma"?
Rolando: Oh yes, especially with the great, marvellous Pavarotti!
That is also fantastic in opera. We hear it again and again, and it feels always new. Each artist is an individual, gives a personal interpretation. The same music is different, if it comes from a Mexican or a German heart. Not only that, each of us is an instrument which never existed in history before – it is similar in pop music.
(The guitar player of "Silbermond" agrees, that music is about emotions.)
Abraham (Box champion): To be a tenor - can one train for, or has one to be born as a tenor? An honest answer, please!
Rolando: Today I asked someone: Someone becomes a philosopher or someone is a philosopher? OK, a tenor?
I think: We all are singers! We all sing! (The others disagree! Rolando jumps up and says: "Sorry, camera man!") I promise, everyone sings, maybe under the shower! (Someone says: "But how? But how?) That´s no problem! What does the dictionary say: What is a singer? A singer is someone who sings. (Someone says: "One can sing well or badly!") No! A singer is not someone who sings well, a singer is someone who sings.
Abraham: But if I sing you will be shocked!
Rolando: And if I fight, I will be in the hospital!

Giovanni asks Abraham, if someone is a boxer or becomes a boxer. He answers, that one becomes a boxer, and that boxing is a dangerous sport.
Amelie: The training for a singer can also be dangerous. I heard that you had strict teachers, who sometimes hit you!
Rolando: Yes, sometimes, pow, pow! Not at the German school! A singing teacher! One day I sang the aria of Edgardo (Lucia). I thought it was good, the technique, all notes were there. Silbermond agrees, that music is not about perfection but about emotion.
Rolando: This is the most difficult, to find the freedom as an artist. One has to work hard on the technique, but there is the moment in the recording studio or on stage, when I have simply to sing, to tell the poetry of the music, and I have to reach the hearts of the people.
Giovanni: Although you are young, there are many legends about you.
One tells, that you decided to become a singer, after you noticed that you conquered the heart of your girlfriend, now your wife, with your serenade under the balcony.
Rolando: Yes! But that is Mexican! I know my wife for 20 years. She was 3 and I….no, no, she was 15 and I was 16.
Giovanni: Like Amelie and I!
Rolando: Did you go with the Mariachi to the window?
Giovanni: Everything! But it did not work!
Amelie to Rolando: To conquer my heart with romance, someone had to sing like you!
Rolando: We are coming back! We are all singers! We all can sing! (To Giovanni:) Next time we go together!
