Cuando se anunció la actual temporada del Liceu, en el Concierto de Rolando Villazón venia relacionado un programa un poco extraño, por ecléctico. Si no recuerdo mal (porque se eliminó hace ya algunas semanas,) el programa anunciaba que Rolando cantaria obras de Mozart, Donizetti, Massenet, arias de zarzuela y canciones mexicanas de Grever y Lara. Y quizá también decía algo de Tosti, no recuerdo exactamente. Lo cierto es que, con su eliminación, ya se confirmó que era un programa aproximado, y que ese concierto requería un contenido más coherente.
Ya hace días que estaba pendiente de la web del Liceu, y esta mañana María Teresa me acaba de avisar (gracias!) que ya consta el nuevo programa.

Mi valoración personal es que es un magnífico programa, personalmente tenía muchísimas ganas de escuchar en directo esas arias de Mozart, y la segunda parte me parece también muy interesante, con mi preferencia por las dos arias de Cilea (del álbum "Cielo e mar"). Rolando ha programado un concierto de alta exigencia para su voz, para no escatimar nada al público del Liceu, ese público que le adora de manera muy especial. Sólo hace falta recordar, y eso no es nada habitual que suceda en el Liceu, la rapidez con que se agotaron las entradas, hace casi un año.
Muchas gracias ! de nous avoir communiqué ce programme très riche et qui, en dehors du répertoire mozartien, nous permettra d'écouter Rolando, entre autres chefs d'oeuvre, dans l'air du "Duco d'Alba" qui lui avait permis de remporter un prix à ses débuts; un retour aux sources...

Bueno, ya sabemos el programa!! Y a mí me gusta mucho! Pero, ¿qué bises hará? ¿Caerá Rosor...y el teatro se vendrá abajo otra vez? ¿O será la Furtiva de tan buen recuerdo en el Liceu?

The city of Barcelona looks forward to your upcoming concert at el Gran Teatre del Liceu with the keenest anticipation and unparalleled excitement. Nonetheless, alarming rumors on the internet suggest that you are contemplating favoring the public of the Liceu with bises of either Una furtiva lagrima or Rosó. This raises grave concerns about public safety, which is alarmingly threatened by the pandemonium your performances invariably precipitate.
We regret that we are compelled to inform you that singing either, or worse, BOTH of these pieces is strictly prohibited by our staff, the fire marshall, and the mayor of Barcelona. Experience has taught us that your singing these pieces simply brings the house down, wreaking havoc on both the Teatre and the city. We must acknowledge that you did attempt to exonerate yourself by staying afterward to help with the cleanup, but that cannot sway us from our firm stand on this serious matter.
We hope that you do not insist upon showing reckless disregard for life, limb, and property by moving forward with this dangerous and ill-advised scheme. There are those of us who firmly believe that allowing you to perform at the Teatre at all, is, in and of itself, already a highly risky proposition. We fully realize that whatever you choose to sing as your bis, delirium will reign supreme. In truth, we would prefer to cancel your performance all together, were it not for the fact that this action would cause rioting in the streets.
We conclude by saying that if you value order and the public good, Mr. Villazón, you will do the right thing and refrain from this rash action.

ResponderEliminarYou have right to publish these warning words of the Management of Liceu, because, although this is an open letter, I am sure that several of us didn’t know it. I agree with you that the safety of the public is very important. And after my last experiences at Mozart and Schumann concerts, I see that Mr. Villazón is not conscious at all of the dangerous and immense effect of his voice and of his art on the psyche of the spectators!
Thank you for calling our attention to these dangers.

You know, Eleonore, our chat may happen sooner rather than later, what with no sign of Rolando at the Met for the 2011-2012 season! :-((( It looks like Rolando is making Americans come to Europe to see him, at least in the near future. OK, twist my arm. It looks like I'll have to gas up my private jet.
