ROLANDO VILLAZÓN WILL SING THE VERDI REQUIEM IN PHILADELHPIA AND NEW YORK (OCTOBER 2012)
The Philadelphia Orchestra Web has just published its 2012-2013 season program. Starting in 2012, the Orchestra will be conducted by Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Highlights of the season include the Verdi Requiem, which will be sung by Rolando Villazón, MarinaPoplavskaya, Christine Rice and Mikhail Petrenko, at the Verizon Hall (Philadelphia) on October 18th, 19th, and 20th. The Philadelphia Orchestra will also perform the Verdi Requiem at Carnegie Hall (New York) on October 23rd with the same director and cast.

La web de la Philadelphia Orchestra acaba de hacer pública su nueva temporada 2012-2013. A partir de 2012, la orquesta está dirigida por Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Entre lo anunciado, destaca el Requiem de Verdi, que será cantado por Rolando Villazón , Marina Poplavskaya, Christine Rice y Mikhail Petrenko, en el Verizon Hall de Philadelphia los días 19, 20 y 21 de octubre. La Philadelphia Orchestra también interpretará el Requiem de Verdi en el Carnegie Hall de New York el día 23 de octubre, con el mismo director y cantantes.

This is fantastic news!!! I've gone 4 times to Europe to hear him and now, finally, Rolando comes to us in North America!!! Joanna, I hope you're going to be there at Carnegie, if not in Philly! We've got to meet at last, and you've got to experience Rolando in all his glory, live and in person! And he's got to meet YOU — I bet he's already a fan of your work! Only nine months to wait, but ... we can do it!!

It's funny, when I first read this, you'd think I would be doing cartwheels down the street or swinging from a chandelier, but instead it was definitely a fistpump and "Oh, ya, bring it on." This is serious business, game day. And I'll be there.
ResponderEliminarUne nouvelle plus que formidable! En Amérique, de nouveau ! Requiem à Carnegie Hall, une des plus prestigieuses salles de concert au monde!!! Et trois concerts à Philadelphia. Avec Nézet-Séguin, un chef d’orchestre très nuancé, raffiné, profondément sensible et avec cet orchestre fabuleux! „Quid sum miser”, „Ingesmisco”, „Hostias” – chantés avec eux! Cela me donne des frissons. Bravo Rolando!

Certes, je n'y serais pas..... je suis en France à coté de Versailles , mais je suis très heureuse de ces nouvelles qui prouvent que Rolando est toujours aussi performant malgrè ce que disent certains. Moi je l'adore et le félicite. Françoise
ResponderEliminarUne nouvelle qui me comble de joie, d'abord pour Rolando qui a déjà chanté à Salzbourg ce merveilleux Roméo et Juliette, avec ce jeune chef d'orchestre si talentueux et très à l'écoute des chanteurs, et bien sur pour nos amis Villazonistas aux US.

Une excellente nouvelle ! Y. Nézet-Séguin, que j'ai découvert avec le Roméo de Salzbourg et qui m'a, à nouveau, enthousiasmée par sa récente direction du Faust (au MET)présente ce Requiem avec passion et il est vrai que commencer une saison avec un tel casting... c'est un vrai rêve!!
ResponderEliminarRolando y retrouvera 4 collègues qu'il connait bien : sa partenaire du Don Carlo (au ROH), sa partenaire des Contes d'Hoffmann (au ROH), son partenaire du Roméo (Salzbourg) et bien sûr, le maestro avec qui il a récemment travaillé pour le Don Giovanni de Baden Baden.
Pour ceux qui auront la chance d'y assister ce sera un magnifique évènement musical et l'espoir que Rolando prolongera son séjour aux U.S.A. en passant par le MET. Qui sait ???

Son gratas noticias, desde luego. Envidia sana nos da a todos los que nos pilla tan lejos, pero también nos da esperanzas de ver a Rolando por estos lares, pues vemos que su ya repleta agenda se sigue completando con nuevos conciertos y representaciones. Aquí también hay teatros y auditorios que desean tener el privilegio de ensimismarse con su voz y no dejar de sorprenderse con sus actuaciones. Esperaremos, pues.
ResponderEliminarMe encantan todas las noticias relacionadas con las actuaciones de Rolando, pero Teresa si puedes cuentanos algo de la Traviata y del Elixir del que se habla del Liceo porque esto queda mas cerca de mi y de mis amigas y supongo que tambien de muchos seguidores de aqui,Teresa podrias decirme por si lo sabes si se transmitira alguna actuacion de Rolando en las pantallas de cine.Un abrazo
ResponderEliminarMerce, respecto a lo del Liceu, no dudes que en cuanto se sepa, lo publico inmediatamente en el Blog. Y lo del cine, puedes seguir mi otro blog Opera en Cines (encontrarás el link en la columna de la derecha), donde voy poniendo toda la información que tengo. Y si se va a proyectar algo donde salga Rolando, también lo pondré aquí, claro, en un post o bien en la pestaña "Radio-TV-Cine".
