I AM FROM SALZBURG - Rolando's Sofa Konzert

Since the very first concert of this nature, I love their relaxed, intimate atmosphere.

Rolando introduced the artists, then, after their programs, had a brief conversation with each of them, asking exciting questions.

The first and the last parts of the evening were "habitual", in comparison with the second one.

The first performer was a fifteen-year old flutist, Arad Karimi, already a great artist of his instrument. He played with extreme virtuosity,

The aria of Lensky from "Oneguine", full of emotion was of heartbreaking beauty. Pianist Livia Hollo accompanied him.

The final performers were "Raphael Steiner and Band". They made gorgeous music, captivating and masterful, with, in an unusual way, the pianist and the violinist who also sang.

And between these two "sections" of the concert, we had something extremely fresh, absolutely unusual and unexpected.

Two sisters, Alexandra Maria Seywald and Rafaela Seyward performed (in the broadest possible sense of the word) their own compositions.

For those who didn't attend their performance, it is absolutely impossible to depict them.

Alexandra Maria Seywald must have undescribable violin skills. Only a great player, a virtuoso violinist can do what she did with her violin.

I dare not undertake to describe the abilities of the artist. Her playing was not only a must-hear but also an absolutely must-see.

"Mozart would be happy with the new inspiration" - words of Rolando for the huge black feather broom used by Rafaela Seyward during their show.

Once again and as always, Rolando gave us a fantastic choice, offering some of "la crème de la crème" young artists living in Salzburg.

MOZART ANCHE A MONACO DI BAVIERA!

Anche Monaco, la sera del 20 aprile, ha avuto il suo concerto Mozart in cui Rolando è accompagnato dal bravo direttore e controtenore Marteen Engeltjes e dall'orchestra Prjct Amsterdam. La cornice è stata questa volta la bellissima ed ampia Herkulessaal della Residenz, nel centro di Monaco, veramente imponente e affrescata con le immagini delle fatiche di Ercole. Nessuna fatica, invece, per Rolando e il resto degli interpreti, che hanno volato intensi e coinvolgenti, ma anche leggeri, sulle sublimi note di Mozart, dai momenti più drammatici a quelli più lievi e divertenti. Il programma, ricchissimo e vario, è stato lo stesso dei concerti precedenti, con Rolando impegnato in arie dal Re Pastore, dall'Idomeneo, dal Lucio Silla, dalla Clemenza di Tito e dal Flauto Magico, più le arie da concerto, e il controtenore che come di solito si è esibito nelle due bellissime arie di Farnace dal Mitridate Re di Ponto. Molti gli applausi e i bravo per loro, ma anche per gli orchestrali, veramente validi nell'esecuzione sia dei pezzi vocali che di quelli solo strumentali. Bravi tutti, con una notazione speciale per clavicembalista e violoncellista, ottimi nell'esecuzione del basso continuo dei recitativi accompagnati, e che si sono divertiti un mondo alle gags di Rolando, come tutto l'uditorio.

 Nel finale di serata ecco la novità: il soprano cinese Yingzi Xia, molto giovane, emozionata, e con doti canore promettenti per il suo futuro. Con lei, dopo il duetto Papageno/Papagena, Rolando ha eseguito come bis anche l'altro duetto, molto divertente, Pamina/Papageno. Presenti naturalmente anche gli altri due bis, con l'aria giovanile "Va' dal furor portata"  e l'irresistibile aria buffa "Con ossequio, con rispetto". 

Rolando è apparso in ottima forma vocale, e molto felice di trovarsi a Monaco, davanti a un pubblico che ama, e che letteralmente lo adora da molti anni. Serata intensa, emozionante, divertente e apprezzatissima dal pubblico, con interminabili standing ovations.
