Book Presentation "Kunsstücke" Rolando Villazón - Vienna, 07 September 2014

Heinz Sichrovsky (cultural journalist and presenter) conducted the interview with Rolando Villazón (for the most part he asked the usual questions - those we know from countless interviews). Rolando replied with his usual charm and had - as so often - so many laughs elicits from the audience.

Between these "questions and answers": Michael Dangl - actor from the ensemble Theater in der Josefstadt - was the reciter.  He read from the book "Kunsstücke" - obviously well prepared and with skilful accentuation (Primera Tríada: 1.1.2 CRAC CRIC CRAC) and (Segunda Tríada: 1.2.2 SUBMARINO AMARILLO).

Since I heard the Monteverdi CD for the first time, I expected the moment to hear 'Il Combattimento' in live with Rolando and, since the Monteverdi concert in Baden-Baden, to rehear, rehear and rehear in live 'Si dolce é'l tormento', 'Pur ti miro' and the other treasures.

El pasado 29 de agosto tuvo lugar en el Berliner Ensamble de la capital alemana la presentación de Kunststücke, la primera novela de Rolando Villazón, recientemente publicada en alemán (Malabares en su versión original en español). ROLANDO VILLAZÓN, TOUR JAPAN REAL OPERA HOUSE SEPTEMBER 2015

The Royal Opera will return to Japan in September 2015, following a hugely successful tour in 2010.

The Company will perform Phyllida Lloyd's production of Macbeth with Simon Keenlyside in the title role alongside Ukrainian soprano Liudmyla Monastyrska as Lady Macbeth, Greek tenor Dimitri Pittas as Macduff, and American bass Raymond Aceto as Banquo.

Kasper Holten's production of Don Giovanni will also travel to Japan with Italian bass-baritone Ildebrando D'Arcangelo in the title role alongside Italian bass Alex Esposito as Leporello, American mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato as Donna Elvira, Mexican tenor Rolando Villazón as Don Ottavio, Russian soprano Albina Shagimuratova as Donna Anna, Russian soprano Julia Lezhneva as Zerlina, and British bass Matthew Rose as Masetto.

Estas fotos, o algunas de ellas, ya eran conocidas por nosotros, pero hoy hemos sabido porqué parece que la recepción privada de la Embajada de México en Berlin, con Plácido Domingo y Rolando Villazón, en 2006, "tuvo lugar" en la cocina.

EN EL CENTENARIO DEL NACIMIENTO DE LUIS MARIANO, UNAS PALABRAS DE ROLANDO VILLAZÓN

Hoy 13 de agosto, Luis Mariano hubiera cumplido 100 años: nació el 13 de agosto de 1914 en el municipio vasco de Irún. Su familia se exilió a Francia al comenzar la Guerra Civil Española, y en este país de desarrolló su carrera y alcanzó una popularidad muy notable como tenor ligero, en películas musicales, pero, sobre todo, como intérprete de operetas (Le chanteur de Mexico, La belle de Cadix...). Falleció en París el 14 de julio de 1970.
